Summer is a perfect time to create fruit smoothies or icecream shakes with creative flavors.  Use the opportunity to practice these concoctions with your child. 

When engaging in sipping breath encourage your child to tell you what thick beverage they are sipping through their straw.  If you are practicing this in a group it allows plenty of time for the children to practice the breathing technique while enjoying the various drinks their fellow yogis are creating.

To teach sipping breath have your child move into a forward bend with their upper body bent over their straight legs.  As they move up into straight back sitting have them take short but strong sipping breaths until they are upright.  As they exhale they will be bending back over their legs.

Not only is this an excellent way to encourage improved breathing with a reseult of focus and calm, but it might lead to a career in culinary arts!
