At the Tucson Festival of Books held on a sunny and warm Saturday, March 13, 2010, I coached over 100 children and youths in an abbreviated yoga protocal I extracted from my book "Yoga Therapy for Every Special Child-Meeting Needs in a Natural Setting."

In an activity billed by event organizers to "learn how to build strength, coordination and creativity through the ancient art of yoga," I taught seven yoga classes over my assigned three and a half hours.

The instruction was extraordinarily well received, and it was one of the most popular activities in the Children's Interactive facility located at the prime crossroads adjacent to the Psychology Building on the University of Arizona (UA) campus in Tucson, Arizona.

More than a few parents joined their children on the colorful yoga mats arrayed in the big "Red Activity Tent" both for the effectiveness of the practice and the maximum participation by waiting families.

The estimated attendance at the two-day event was 70,000-80,000, and myriad venues of entertainment fun added to the flavor of the festival.

Over 450 authors participated in the community event sponsored in part by the UA, the Diamond Children's Hospital and Viner Homes.

Proceeds from the event benefited literacy in Southern Arizona.

Thank you to all the volunteers who aided me.  I could not have handled even half the volume of participants without your help!

I'll be back for the 2011 Tucson Festival of Books slated for March 12-13.
